Dr. Ivan Weinstein - Lead Veterinarian

Dr. Weinstein is living his dream job. He has aspired to be a veterinarian since he was three years old. He has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 36 years now.

Dr. Weinstein was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He received his BS degree in Animal Science from Penn State University. After graduating from Penn State, Dr. Weinstein attended Idaho State University where he received his MS degree in microbiology. He then enrolled in Hahnemann Medical College and obtained an AS degree in Respiratory Therapy.

In 1986 he received his DVM degree from Ross University in the Caribbean. Dr. Weinstein owned two veterinary hospitals in Philadelphia before moving his family and purchasing Oro Valley Pet Clinic in 2003. Dr. Weinstein practiced in Oro Valley from 2003-2017 whereupon he relocated to Mesa and took an associate doctor position at Banfield Pet Hospital from 2017-2022.

Dr. Weinstein joined Tricity East Vet as Medical Director in July of 2022. His veterinary philosophy is "modern medicine with old-fashioned compassion".As for compassion, Dr. Weinstein is a recipient of a Ben's Bell Award. This award is given to people in the greater Tucson community who spread kindness daily and make the community a better place to live. His special interests are internal medicine, senior, and geriatric pet care.

In his spare time, Dr. Weinstein enjoys swimming, horseback riding, and following the rodeo circuit.
